The San Francisco 49ers (3-10) host their NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks (8-5), at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California as Week 15 action continues on Sunday afternoon.
The game is scheduled to start at 4:05 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Fox in select areas (coverage map here). The Seahawks put in one of the most impressive defensive performances of the season when they held the Minnesota Vikings to just seven points on Monday Night Football.
Wilson only had 70 passing yards in the game, but it was Chris Carson and the Legion of Boom 2.0, as well as Bobby Wagner and a retooled Seattle defense, that made all the difference.
Doug Baldwin, who is nursing a hip injury, is expected to play, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Baldwin missed Monday night, and Tyler Lockett was the No. 1 receiver in his absence.
Pete Carroll is getting his team up to speed on their old NFC West rivals. Carroll told reporters this week:
“We just played these guys a couple weeks ago, but we do everything like it’s a brand-new game and start all over again. The Niners played really good last week against Denver. Really played an explosive game early in particular and controlled the score the whole time, played really good football.”
Schefter reports the 49ers skill-position players are all expected to play.
Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers will look to somewhat play the role of spoiler, although one more win is likely to put the Seahawks into the playoffs because of the uncertainty surrounding the remaining NFC teams.
